John McCain IS a Warmonger

The furious Republican reaction to the Democrats' accusations of McCain's warmongering is a classic case of "doth protest too much." We aren't often treated to such a display of righteous anger from the right wing....it usually only happens when one of their fictitious icons are attacked with facts. For instance, go to any RW board and suggest that the media speak primarily for corporate interests rather than being liberal or conservative, and you'll incite quite the firestorm. And if you suggest that George Bush was AWOL during the Vietnam War, Look Out.
Now we have McCain's warmongering.
As we all know from the SCLM and Bush AWOL experiences, the facts are with us. Any reading of Bob Somerby will get you up to date with the former, and as we all know, the AWOL story on Bush was factually correct, even if the papers were forged. Maintaining the fiction of a liberal media is so important to the GOP that the Scaifes even financed a "non-partisan" professor to "report" and present "findings" on the number of negative and positive stories in the media for each candidate. This "non-partisan" professor never comments in favor of Democrats and is a regular on Fixed News. Go figure. Anyway, on to John McCain....
YES! John McCain is a warmonger. I invite you first to take a gander at this website, John McCain's own. Note, please, the selection of issues that is featured. For foreign policy, we have two that qualify: national security and Iraq.
Now, we know McCain's current stand on Iraq. It's only how the war was waged that he feels was wrong. No matter that one only read dday's excellent diary to remember that it has little to do with the war on terror. But can we get Warmonger John to admit that? I doubt we ever will.
Our next stop is McCain's national security section. After all, any reasonable person knows that a nation is most secure when it is economically strong, militarily strong, diplomatically strong, and is seen around the world as a shining example of what the rest of the world should be. Unfortunately though, on McCain's site there is a sentence here and there devoted to "working with our allies" and "building alliances," but they are wholly devoted to using these alliances for fighting terrorism. The entire rest of the section is devoted to maintaining our armed forces. And believe me, it's long.
Compare that to Obama, who recognizes the need to use all the tools at our disposal, including a strong military, to ensure our security and our standing in the world. His website takes a significant amount of space to attempt to identify problems before jumping to conclusions about what must be done. This is the mark of someone who will judiciously use our military forces.
