Jake Tapper- Reporter of the Year. Obama is Smokin'!

Thu Apr 03, 2008 at 09:23:51 PM PDT

As you all know, Jake Tapper is ABC News' ace political reporter. If there is a secret to be investigated, an international crisis to be dealt with, or  a scandal at hand, Jake Tapper will be there. All he's missing is his pork pie hat and his 'Press' card sticking out of the lapel. Whenever I want to hear about serious policy discussion or true differences between campaigns, I go straight to Jake "Political Reporter of the Year" Tapper. Diane Sawyer told me so.

GBCW (That means GoodBye Cruel World)

Sat Mar 15, 2008 at 02:17:23 PM PDT

When I first visited this sight, and I’m talking pre-scoop days, I loved how everyone agreed with what I said. Sometimes they wouldn’t agree with me, but the people that agreed with me vastly outweighed those who didn’t agree with me, and it made me feel important and, more than anything, correct.

Grandpa Munster Dies, CNN Assures 'Balance'

Sat Feb 04, 2006 at 03:07:19 PM PDT

Ben Goshi touched on this news here.

This diary explores the difference between the rigid, one sided 'journalism' of the AP, and the balanced, 'we report what we're told and you decide' reporting of CNN. First the facts, and I hope you're sitting down:

Grampa Munster has passed away.

Now the liberal media reports one side of the issue.

Novakula Confronted With Who's Who?

Thu Aug 04, 2005 at 08:50:51 PM PDT

Is it possible that that it wasn't Carville's unspectacular dissent that caused Novak to run off? Perhaps it was because Ed Henry had a copy of Who's Who- the book that Novak supposedly read to discover Plame's name.

PBS Chooses Republican President

Thu Jun 23, 2005 at 07:38:34 PM PDT

I searched the diaries and found no mention of this. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has chosen, "a former Republican Party co-chairman Thursday as its president and chief executive."

"Patricia S. Harrison, the assistant secretary of state for educational and cultural affairs, was selected following three days of closed-door meetings by the corporation's board of directors."

Here's the AP article.

Butt Out: Notes From an Ex-smoker

Sat Jun 04, 2005 at 02:24:48 PM PDT

This is a note to never been smoker liberals or democrats who like to pontificate about how smoking is stinky, a rotten habit, and filled with health risks. Cut it out.

If you are not a doctor, don't do it. I am an ex-smoker, and I certainly understand people who have smoked that use this terminology (because we have to convince ourselves not to smoke), but to those who have never smoked: quit condescending.

Why does anyone take Eugene Volokh seriously?

Mon Mar 21, 2005 at 09:24:16 PM PDT

I'm not even mentioning his remarkable stand on an inhumane, brutal torture before a slow death. No, he really is all about the 'culture of life.'

Today, he spouted the following Drudge Report drivel:
(More after the fold)

Proud to be in Illinois

Sun Jan 09, 2005 at 08:12:28 PM PDT

I don't mean to disparage any of the Red State folks, but after the defeat this November, I took solace in the fact that Kerry won my state, and it is currently very blue.

I do not like our current Democratic governor, but our representation to the senate is second to none.

Graphic representation after the fold.
