Murdoch / O'Reilly / GOP Leader Guilty of Treason! To be hanged!

House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) disclosed elements of the court's decision in remarks Tuesday to Fox News as he was promoting the administration-backed wiretapping legislation. Boehner has denied revealing classified information, but two government officials privy to the details confirmed that his remarks concerned classified information.

And FoxNews aired this?  But wha?!

Rethug Senator punches Dem in Face w/ VIDEO

Fri Jun 08, 2007 at 10:44:37 AM PDT

My wife just called me and said she saw a mention of this on MSNBC.  Apparently they broke into ParisWatch to cover another sensational story. An Alabama republican senator punched a Dem Senator square in the face.  Imagine that.  A republican with anger control issues.  "Lets Bomb the hell out of all those A-rabs."  Who could see that coming?

Star Trek and Iraq

Thu Feb 01, 2007 at 08:29:49 AM PDT

With more Republican presidential candidates announcing they're entering the 2008 race, several of them have invoked President Lincoln's name in speeches regarding Iraq.  Unfortunately, I do not know enough about President Lincoln to have an educated guess on what his opinion of fixing the Iraq problem would be, and I believe its safe to say that Gingrich and Brownback, two Republicans who have thrown his name around, do not either.

But the references to Lincoln, have led me to contrast the rise of the U.S. with the struggle of Iraq.

TN-Sen: SUSA Race is tied 48%-48%

Thu Oct 26, 2006 at 07:59:53 AM PDT

Just as I expected, the momentum is swinging again.  Last week Ford saw his slim lead vanish as Corker and his RNC pal's pushed racist and nasty television ads.  Ford did not go the way of John Kerry and take the high road.  My thought on that matter is when your opponent pulls a knife, you pull a cannon.

Ford refused to be swiftboated and fought back.

Bellsouth & Verizon involved in NSA coverup conspiracy?

Tue May 16, 2006 at 02:26:52 PM PDT

Today, the second telco denied accusations by the USA Today that they had provided the NSA with their customers' records.

Verizon:

Verizon Communications Inc. denied earlier media reports that it entered into a contract with the National Security Agency, providing the government office with info about its customer phone calls.

"One of the most glaring and repeated falsehoods in the media reporting is the assertion that, in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, Verizon was approached by NSA and entered into an arrangement to provide the NSA with data from its customers' domestic calls," the company said in a statement Tuesday.

Verizon said it was not asked by the government agency to provide, nor did Verizon give out, customer phone records from any of its businesses, or any customer call data.

Joe Scarborough is exactly right on the NSA! WTF?!

When Joe Scarborough is dead on right, we all know the county has gone to hell in a handbasket.  Check out the video posted at Crooks and Liars.

I'm sick of "Bush Ass Kissing" Dems w/ Poll

Wed Apr 26, 2006 at 08:07:00 AM PDT

I received an email from Barbara Boxer's PAC for a Change.  I'm a big supporter of Sen. Boxer, so I always take the time to actually read her emails (unlike many of the others I receive that go straight in the trash).  This email brags about her PAC raising $68,000 or so for Sen. Bill Nelson.  A great accomplishment, and if I remember correctly his fundraising has been unbelievable so far.

For those that are unfamiliar, the way she chooses which candidate to support with her PAC is that she allows people to go to her website and vote for 1) A Dem Incumbent, and 2) A Dem Challenger.  Currently Rep. Chet Edwards from TX-17 is winning the incumbent race with 20% of the votes.  Now on to what pissed me off.

Recommended Diary Button is Broken...Thanks guys

Tue Nov 29, 2005 at 07:49:16 AM PDT

This is going to be the first diary I've written on this site that I've expected to get troll rated and flamed for.  But here it is anyway, because I (in my almighty opinion) believe it needs to be said.

Why is the Cindy Sheehan diary on the recommended diary list right now?

The Tennessee Democrats' Creed (or A Plan for America)

Mon Nov 21, 2005 at 01:51:52 PM PDT

I received this in the mail today from the Tennessee Democratic Party.  Mostly it was advertising a fundraising and honor ceremony at Al & Tipper's house for Gore, Gov. Ned McWherter, Sen. Jim Sasser, Sen. Harlan Matthews, and Congressman Bob Clement.  Then honoring current TN Dem leaders, Bredesen, Ford & so on.

But the interesting part (at least to me) was that enclosed was The Tennessee Democrats' Creed.  It follows below.

Confessions of a Petroleum Addict

Fri Mar 25, 2005 at 08:05:44 AM PDT

I woke up this morning and headed towards the bathroom.  I turned on the sink faucet for my two little kitties and started the shower for myself.  As I began to search for a towel and clean clothes the bathroom began to fill with steam.  Once I found my clothes for the day, guess what?  They were wrinkled.  I plugged in the iron, the coffee maker, and went into the living room to turn on the television.  CNN.  Terri Schiavo. MSNBC. Terri Schiavo.  And dare I say it FoxNews. Terri Schiavo.

After about 5 min of TerriGate I headed back to the ironing board to finish my shirt.  After adding my starch from the aerosol can, I began to iron.  Meanwhile the shower filled the bathroom with steam and the sink faucet hydrated my sweet kitties.

Let's Take a Senate Seat in TN!

Wed Feb 16, 2005 at 09:51:38 AM PDT

It is all but official.  Representative Harold Ford Jr. (D-TN) is throwing his hat into the Senate race.

Rep. Ford will run for Frist's seat
By Bob Cusack and Hans Nichols

Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (D-Tenn.) is expected to announce next week that he will run for the Senate, seeking to replace Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) when he retires in 2006.

Ford's office declined to comment on his senatorial plans, but three sources close to Ford said that he has decided to run and that an announcement will be made soon. One informed source said, "He will absolutely, 100 percent, run for the Senate. He wants that seat."

Want an Ohio Recount? It'll cost $110,000

Wed Nov 10, 2004 at 09:25:59 PM PDT

It looks as though Ralph Nader and the Green Party are at it again.  Stirring up trouble in the name of what is right and good.

Keith Olbermann just posted his newest entry to his blog, and apprently has committed himself to pursue this issue until it has been exhausted.

David Cobb of the Green Party told a California radio station late yesterday afternoon that he is "quite likely to be demanding a recount in Ohio," with a final decision to be reached and announced during the day.
